Symptoms of Gum Disease
- Red gums, Puffy gums: Gums may feel tender and bleed easily when brushing and flossing.
- Shrinking gums, Receding gums: Expose the sensitive part of the tooth -- the root -- causing sensitivity to cold water, air, or brushing. If your teeth look longer than they used to, your gums are shrinking.
- Wiggly teeth, Shifting teeth: Gum disease can attack the bones that hold your teeth in place; loosing bone that holds teeth can cause tooth mobility and teeth may shift.
- Bad breath: May be a symptom of serious gum disease. Your breath usually doesn’t change much if you’ve got gingivitis (early stage of gum disease). - GUM DISEASE CAN BE PREVENTED AND TREATED BEFORE IT GETS SERIOUS. SEE YOUR DENTIST ON A REGULAR BASIS.
