Zoom Whitening

Tooth Whitening (bleaching) is restoration of natural tooth shade. Restoration of natural underlying tooth shade is possible by removing surface stains (e.g. coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco).

Whitening your teeth can be done in the dental office or at your home using a bleaching kit provided by your dentist. The kit contains of custom made plastic trays that fit on your teeth and some whitening gel. Once home you simply put some of the gel material in the tray and wear it on your teeth 15-30 minutes a day, for a week or two. The gel material used to whiten teeth is Carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide.  Carbamide peroxide may be less effective than hydrogen peroxide , but has fewer side effects.

There are many products and methods to achieve a brighter smile, to choose the technique that is right for you talk to your dentist about the differences between in-office professional whitening and at-home whitening.

IN OFFICE TEETH WHITENING

The first option is in-office whitening. This procedure is performed in a dental office. Your dental professional will apply a whitening gel to the surface of your teeth. This visit generally takes about 60 minutes and you will be able to see results immediately.

ZOOM WHITENING

Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed whitens teeth up to eight shades in 45 minutes.  WhiteSpeed's advanced blue LED technology accelerates the whitening process, delivering results in just one office visit.

AT HOME TEETH WHITENING

Tray whitening is a type of professional whitening that uses custom-made trays and whitening gel available through your dentist. The whitening gel is placed in custom-fitted trays that fit perfectly over your teeth.  The whitening material in the gel breaks down and removes the stains. At-home professional tray whitening generally takes about 14 days, although you may notice results in as little as three to five days.

TEETH WHITENING STRIPS

These are thin strips with a thin film of whitening material on one side. Whitening strip kits contain strips for the upper teeth and strips for the lower teeth. The whitening agent is applied by placing the strips across your teeth and gently pressing the strips to contact with your teeth. Teeth-whitening strips are typically worn for 30-60 minutes a day. The duration of treatment will vary.

WHITENING TOOTHPASTE AND MOUTHWASHE

These toothpastes and mouthwashes remove surface stains using mild abrasives. However, unlike the materials used in professional Whitening toothpastes affect surface stains and will mildly lighten your teeth.
