Flossing tips:

  • Floss at least once a day. Flossing before bedtime is preferred, but you can floss any time during the day. Find a time that works for you and maintain that as a part of your daily routine.
  • When you first start flossing your gums may bleed. After a couple of weeks of regular flossing this should stop. If bleeding persists speak to your dentist.

  • Be gentle. Aggressive flossing can hurt your gums.

  • Floss between all your teeth and behind your back teeth.

  • For more tips on flossing talk to your dentist about different flossing options like inter proximal brushes, floss holders, dental tape and waterpik.
